Getting married towards the end of May 2026 and looking for honeymoon recs. At this point I think we're in between Turks and Costa Rica.

We would be interested in fishing, golf, and any other possible excursions/activities, I'm not one that can sit on a beach and do nothing for extended periods of time. Indifferent on all inclusive or not. Adults only is a plus. Budget is maybe up to $10k? Still working on this. Any other suggestions we should be looking at?

Congrats on your engagementso exciting to plan a honeymoon!
Both destinations you mentioned are amazing and super popular with my clients.

Costa Rica is a top pick. Most clients do a split staystarting near Arenal Volcano for jungle adventures and hot springs, then heading to the coast like Tamarindo, Playa Conchal, or even Punta Islita. It gives you a great mix of activities and scenery. Amor Arenal is a favorite resort for sure!

Turks & Caicos has a totally different feelGrace Bay Beach is stunning, and you can keep things easy on the main island or go for something more secluded like Ambergris Cay. I've had clients love that private island vibehappy to share details!

You might also consider Antiguasuper accessible, great value, and with 365 beaches, you'll never run out of places to explore.
And if you're open to Mexico, Los Cabos is a fun mix of luxury and adventure. Le Blanc is dreamy, but there are also great options like JW Marriott or Grand Velas. While the beaches aren't swimmable, there's tons to do off-resort - including great fishing charters!

Let me know if you want help narrowing it downI'd love to help plan something unforgettable!

Turks and Costa Rica are very different locations and what they have to offer. If you are not working with a travel advisor I would love to help you plan your honeymoon. Most certainly in Costa Rica there is so much to do to be active. I wanted to leave you with a couple of my pic and clients from both locations. .

My family and I just got back from Guanacaste Costa Rica yesterday and we absolutely loved it! If you don't love sitting on the beach all day I would highly recommend Costa Rica. Need to check the weather patterns and expectations for your honeymoon, but we had nothing to complain about. CR has everything from beautiful beaches and views and the amazing rain forests and waterfalls and hot springs. It was a perfect mix of everything.

We have been to many beautiful places and we both agreed that Costa Rica was special and second only to Bora Bora in our and edged out Hawaii, Australia, Grand Cayman, and St. Lucia. We have never been to T&C and would love to go there and have heard great things.

We stayed in Playa Hermosa at a fantastic VRBO in a gated community with an infinity pool and great view (Monte Paraiso). Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton both have beautiful properties in CR if you prefer the resort and room service options for your honeymoon.

Pros on Costa Rica:
1. the beaches have beautiful scenic views and water is clear. Each beach feels like a private cove and keeps them relatively quiet and feel semi-private with great sunsets
2. Great snorkeling and sailing/catamaran cruise options, fishing, surfing, etc.
3. Rain Forest offers zip lining, horses, tubing the rapids, waterfalls and hiking, hot springs, volcano tours, wildlife, etc.
4. Safe and welcoming to tourists
5. Easy to get around (rent a car)
6. Reasonable costs (prices compare to USA)
7. Quick and easy flight

CR was the perfect mix of everything IMO. Congrats on the wedding.

Costa Rica for sure between the two options you've mentioned. CR has a huge diversity of things to do. Up in the rain forrest/volcanos, the weather is really nice, much cooler than the Pacific side. Very cool resorts, interesting wildlife.

We also love the Guanacaste Pacific coast region. Beaches aren't dreamy, but there is a great diversity of types (black, red, coarse shell, silver sands). Lots of activities including fishing.

PM if you want specific suggestions.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Figured I'd follow up.

We for sure decided on Costa Rica. Haven't booked anything yet, but planning on flying into Liberia, doing 3 nights in La Fortuna and staying at Nayara Springs. Probably do hanging bridges, chocolate and coffee tours, waterfalls, rainforest, nature sanctuaries, etc.

We'll then go to Tamarindo for 4 nights. Think we're staying at Jardin del Eden. Here we'll fish, golf, spa, pool, and spend more time just hanging out and exploring. If we don't get to some of the activities at La Fortuna, figured there might be a concierge or something we could look into.

Really looking forward to it.

If it is not too late, maybe consider going to the beach first. Your wife will probably want a day or so to relax from all the wedding stuff if yall are going directly after the wedding.

Good call on Nayara, excellent tour picks too. That place is awesome.

For Tamarindo, I highly recommend a beachfront bungalow at Capitan Suizo. It's on the end of the playa, excellent service, great restaurants nearby. I don't know much about Jardin del Eden, but I wouldn't want to be in the hectic Tamarindo town traffic, go to Capitan Suizo.

If you're new to CR, I would recommend a driver to Nayara. There are some very windy / twisty roads with steep inclines/declines with some crazy CR drivers. From Tamarindo to LIB, it might be cheaper to have a driver as well. Almost all of your tours will have driver options that are included with the tour. Next time you go, which you will, get your own SUV.

I've found driving in Costa Rica to be pretty easy. Driven to nayara from Liberia and San Jose with no problems. I would recommend getting a car. The valet service at nayara is impeccable and having a car gives you lots of flexibility to see things on your own terms.

Would highly recommend booking a couples spa time at nayara. Just fyi, if you are staying at the springs, the May nights will typically go on sale about 3-6 months out.

The restaurants on site are good but I would recommend eating in town some. You've listed some great activities, but would also recommend a night tour and a guided tour at bougainvillea ( totally butchering spelling) trail just on the nayara side of town. You should see tons of animals including sloths.

For the beach portion of trip, don't have a lot of experience with various towns but did stay at Samara last week and found it great. Just large enough to have plenty of restaurants and things to do, but low key and not as crowded as some of the other places from what I've been told. And great views!
