byu has a weak defense relative to what you're about to face. They are not a fast twitch team if you know what I mean and their tackling is ***** Beating a mediocre team twice is no great shakes. I don't really know about Oregon. Haven't seen them play all year. do they have a frosh QB?? I don't know. but lets say you get past that.

Top tier in the big 10 and SEC will f you up. Your OL hasn't been tested. not once.

(not taking anything away from what you've done. you've done fine with your soft soft schedule which is soft. and met expectations against the softees.

here are the top 25 defenses Technical hasn't played https://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/current/team/22

oooh Oregon comes in at #4 against a very tough schedule. That does not bode well for our west Tx champs.

didn't they play 4 or 5 ranked teams who also have more difficult schedules than you? including the top team in the nation? they're more battle tested

I believe Oregon has top 5 SOS. stay tuned...
there are probably various metrics. this has them at 4. .. https://www.teamrankings.com/college-football/ranking/schedule-strength-by-other , but chatgpt put together one for me that has Oregon 30 out of top 50. but still out of Tech's depth.

Here is the emblematic game of the season. 12-1 JMU had one loss this season. 28-14 to Louisville when they stepped out of their depth to play a 4-4 team in the acc.

You poor, bitter, sum*****. Just wish the Ags and Tech best of luck and go drown your silly ass in a large, dirty glass of whatever citrus-infused, whale semen IPA you prefer.

Don't come at the messenger, johnny-cameback lately (after tech finally won something). I do in fact wish y'all both great success and I drink Coors when I drink beer. not a lot.
Have fun. don't think about the emblematic game.

Just remember, Tech-friends: you are the standard bearer for the Big 12. While the SEC might need to threaten, wheedle and cajole to get a 3 loss team in the playoffs, you did it honestly and honorably in a terrifically tough, revitalized conference. Go forth and conquer.

Tech's non-conference schedule was pathetic. So let's go ahead and get that out of the way. But let's also acknowledge that Oregon's was only marginally better.

In conference, Oregon played:

Northwestern (4-5 / 6-6)
Penn State (3-6 / 6-6)
Indiana (9-0 / 13-0)
Rutgers (2-7 / 5-7)
Wisconsin (2-7 / 4-8)
Iowa (6-3 / 8-4)
Minnesota (5-4 / 7-5)
USC (7-2 / 9-3)
Washington (5-4 / 8-4)

Their best win was USC, currently #16. Second was Iowa, currently #23. They are 2-1 against currently ranked teams, with a combined score of 80 - 73.

Duck's opponent's conference records combined, including 13-0 IU, is 66-43.

Tech's in conference opponents are:

Utah (7-2 / 10-2)
Houston (6-3 / 9-3)
Kansas (3-6 / 5-7)
Arizona State (6-3 / 8-4)
OSU (0-9 / 1-11) - note that OSU was a non conference game for Oregon
Kansas State (5-4 / 6-6)
BYU (8-1 / 11-1) - note that this does not count the B12CG, which Tech won
UCF (2-7 / 5-7)
WVU (2-7 / 4-8)
BYU - not counted since they played twice

Tech's best win was BYU, #12, twice. Second was Utah, #15. Third was Houston, #21. Tech is 4-0 against currently ranked teams, with a combined score of 132 - 35.

Tech's opponents' records combined, including 1-11 OSU and not double-counting BYU, is 58-49.

SOOOOOOO...

The conference records are very similar, but Oregon's is slightly better. Oregon had a better loss than Tech (#1 IU vs. 8-4 ASU).

BUT. Tech played more ranked teams, beat more ranked teams, beat higher ranked teams, beat them by gigantic margins, and won its conference championship to boot.

TL;DR? I'm not buying even for a hot second that Oregon is somehow more battle tested than Tech. You're buying into a media narrative that is a lie.

i read every letter of every word of your post, because I appreciate the research and time you put into it.
(I validate you). However, we've already concluded that the answer to the question is found in precedent (via my deep research), specifically that is The Emblematic Game. It is literally the best information we have going forward, as I lay out the preview for people like you specifically, of what is about to occur.

The Emblematic Game of the season; 12-1 JMU had one loss this season:
they lost 28-14 vs Louisville, when JMU stepped out of their depth to play a 4-4 team in the ACC..

So let's stick with the facts. shall we?

probably similar to 12-1 James Madison stats in the Sunbelt conference.

JMU defense allows fewer yards per game for instance. And JMU D is better than Tech on 3rd downs.

so stat-Jay, you don't want to compare stats with JMU now? It appears they're better than you, by your own metrics.

and you may remember that JMU was one of the two participants in The Emblematic Game.

even if you didn't play anyone good, it is good that y'all will get more rest time, and maybe Morton can basically live in a cryogenic chamber for 10 days or so. You know I want y'all to beat Oregon. I hope I'm wrong, but the proverbial writing is on the wall.

You can go ahead and stick your facts back from where you dug them out. Try not to poke out your eye in the process. And don't forget to wash your hands afterwards. Cleanliness is next to Godliness.
