He will have status on PGA Tour Americas, which basically spends the first half of the season in South America (and a tournament in Mexico) and the second half in largely in Canada (with a couple of stops in the US), then finishes the season in the DR.

I could be wrong, but I think Palmer no longer has status on the PGA Tour. He used his career money exemption last year. He's 49, so he'll be moving to the Champions Tour next year. I wonder if he just decides to take some sponsor exemptions in the Texas tournaments and takes it easy for a year, or if he tries to play Monday qualifers.

Monday qualifying is rough. I'd say he does the Texas events with some sponsor invites (Colonial and Dallas for sure) and then Champions Tour next year.

Doesn't look like it. Just a lot of ammo to smack talk Rory and Shane.

Key Benefits of Winning:
  • DP World Tour Exemption: The winner receives a two-season exemption, meaning they are fully exempt (guaranteed entry) into most DP World Tour events for two years.
  • Race to Dubai Points: A substantial amount of Race to Dubai points (e.g., 500 in 2026) are awarded, placing the winner high in the season-long rankings.
  • OWGR Points: Significant Official World Golf Ranking points are earned, boosting the player's global standing.
  • Financial Reward: A large share of the tournament purse, with the winner taking home a significant portion (e.g., $465,000 in 2026).

What it's NOT (Typically):
  • It's not usually a direct exemption into specific major championships (like the Masters or The Open) unless the player qualifies through other means or specific tournament bonuses (like the Investec South African Open offering Masters/Open spots).
Too bad it wasn't next week. Hopefully he can carry some momentum.

Nacho birdied 17th to enter into a tie for the lead with Shane Lowry who was playing the 18th. Lowry's greenside bunker shot on 18th went into the water and resulted with a double. Nacho finished with an easy par for the win.

Globetrotter Fat Pat wins in Dubai. Rory must have determined the tournament wasn't important enough for true pros to try for the win.
