Taking high school golfers to Pinehurst for spring break. Four teenage boys ages 16-18 and the two dads will be golfing. The other mom and I will have her teenage daughter and be left to self entertain. Have lots of VRBO houses saved. Unsure where I should be looking to stay. Help.

Are you planning on golfing at the Pinehurst Resort courses or just at courses in the area?

If the resort I think you have to stay on property to book tee times?

I just took a group of 12 customers in early December and we stayed at the Cottages on No. 8. Would definitely recommend

It really depends on how much you want to spend, but I would try to get as close as possible to downtown Pinehurst. North of 211 and more than a mile south of downtown Pinehurst, you kind of start to lose some of the charm that the wives enjoy for strolling, shopping etc. Outside of that it can be hit or miss depending on the neighborhood and there are not a lot of absolutes (I.e. it could depend on the street). Plenty of good spots, but I feel that the area I described above is very solid. (I lived in the area a few years).

Feel free to send over any Vrbo IDs and I'll be happy to give you my thoughts. I love the area and really miss it. Y'all are going to have an awesome time.

ETA: Southern Pines also has some neat neighborhoods, but the golfers will have a short drive <10 min to the courses. Not a terrible thing, but my ideal Pinehurst trip = staying in the village.

I'd stay at the Manor. Right down the street from the Carolina. Awesome bar downstairs. Slightly cheaper than the Carolina also. Highly recommended.

Me and my buddy stayed in the Manor as well when we went. Have the guys stay there and send the girls to the Carolina

I would recommend the Holly Inn. Stayed twice there. One thing to keep in mind, if you stay with one of the hotels tied to the resort, you can charge things back to the room. They give you a "credit card" so to speak. Also, They have shuttles that take you everywhere in town, but a lot is very walkable. Those are awesome! The drivers are great and a wealth of local knowledge. Happy to answer any questions.

Don't miss going to the Deuce in the clubhouse and make sure you have an eagle old-fashioned!

My wife and I stayed at Manor and liked it. Shuttle system gets you anywhere pretty quickly.

Order the Key Lime pie at the Carolina. Save some room!

Long about 35 years ago, my wife managed a travel agency in Katy. When we traveled, she would generally get us a 2/3 discount on our hotel room, especially at resorts. Her older brother had moved to Raleigh, so on a trip up there to see him, we decide to go to Pinehurst. She checks on the discount rate, and they give us the 1/3 rate.
When we check in, they give us the Presidential Suite, for 1/3, which was way more than we had planned for. But, for 2 nights we were stylin' and profilin' at Pinehurst, played #2 and #8 and had a big ol' time. Really good times

Just did a staycation at the Carolina Hotel (main hotel) and it is phenomenal! It felt like we were the first guests staying in the room, it was SO clean.

I don't think you can go wrong anywhere but the Cottages at No 8 may be the best for this group size.

Also, do not miss No 10 and No 4, I liked them more than No 2 which was STUPID hard.
