What price range would you guess to completely have a contractor paint the total inside and outside of a 1500 square-foot home? It hasn't been painted in 22 years and I'm thinking touchup painting is not the way to go. I'm doing this because my house will be on the market in about two months. Live in Conroe.

Just paid $3,500 for exterior paint on a 2 side masonry 1500 sqft in Austin with SW Duration. I don't imagine 4 side siding would be very much more based on the amount of time spent masking the stone. Last time I had the interior painted, I just paid hourly and provided supplies.

At 22 years old (am putting the house on the market 5/1/26) I am debating cleaning the Hardi plank with a mild detergent and soft sponges. Some sites (who are advertising and want the work) say you should paint the Hardi planks two coats with an acrylic paint.

If anyone knows of a reasonable painter (and I would "help") who could work in Conroe please let me know. The calculator states it's 80 hours of labor for the entire inside and I'm guessing 40 hours of labor if I did the outside. Was shocked that the cost alone of interior paint might be around $1,500.

Definitely need kitchen, living room, bathrooms, hall, and master bedroom completely painted but might get away with touch-ups in other areas. Since I'm selling it's about ROI and not me living there for the next 15-20 years.

As an aside, if the calculator says it is 80 hours of work, at $1,500, that's $18.75 an hour. That doesn't include materials and other business expenses.

Seems good to me, as most handy men I've talked to say they price their labor at about $50/hr or so.
