Howdy, Ags!

We're Hook & Bullet Adventures RSA - a passionate outfitting team based in South Africa, offering fair-chase hunts across more than 70,000 hectares of wild African land. Whether you're after kudu, zebra, or a proper old buffalo bull, our campfire is always where the best hunting stories are shared.

I'm Kate Holzmann, a recent Aggie grad with a degree in Marketing Analytics & Consulting and a minor in Agricultural Economics - and the U.S. agent for Hook & Bullet. I first connected with the team while serving as an officer for the Texas A&M Texas Trophy Hunters Association. As I was planning our annual banquet - which raises money for Texas Hunt for the Cure, a nonprofit that takes children and young adults with life-threatening or life-altering conditions on their dream hunting and fishing trips - Johan reached out. He had heard about the cause and offered to donate a hunt for our auction. That marked the start of a great partnership and led to the incredible opportunity to join this team.

Over the past year, I've had the chance to work closely with Johan and have been continually inspired by the kind of person he is. Raised in the veld, he grew up with a deep respect for the land, the animals, and the people who share it. He believes in offering real, honest experiences - nothing flashy, polished or manufactured. Whether you're tracking kudu in the bushveld or casting lines off the coast, Johan is there every step of the way - not just to guide the hunt, but to be part of the story. He's a proud husband to his wife, Rune, and a father to five young and wild children - four boys and one girl, including a set of twins. His family is his anchor and at the heart of everything he does, and that sense of purpose and desire to build a legacy runs through all of Hook & Bullet.

I grew up in an Aggie household, raised by wolves (three older brothers) and beautifully brainwashed by my Class of '89 Civil Engineering dad. Between riding in a maroon Suburban and repping a Maroon Out shirt in every Christmas card, I was taught three things: (1) Never lie, cheat, or steal (2) Aggies help Aggies; and (3) Austin is the land that smells of rotten cheese. I also learned that TexAgs was the ultimate social media platform and news source - the reason Dad wasn't listening to you, or why he was peeking at his phone in church during recruiting season (thank God for mercy).

TexAgs has always been my favorite expression of the Aggie Network - honest and real, where people show their true personalities and keep the Old Army spirit alive. It only made sense to bring Hook & Bullet into this community, connecting two things I care deeply about and continuing the mission of "Aggies help Aggies". That being said, we're excited to announce two exclusive hunting packages just for the Aggie Network - the Maroon Package and the White Package - with well-rounded trips and special pricing for those wearing the ring. You'll find all the details on the TexAgs page of our website, along with my email: kate@hookandbullet.co.za if you'd like to reach out or book a hunt.

We'd love to chat, share more about what we do, and help you experience Africa - the Hook & Bullet way.
Gig 'Em and God bless,
The Hook & Bullet Team
