Today is national Brat day. Yes, there is such a thing. If you or a love one is a Brat and was borne overseas, make sure you have your birth paperwork in order.

A lady asked me the other day what "brat" means. I didn't know, it was just a label I grew up with, so I went Googling. The word apparently comes from the British Army, and it's a contraction of "barracks rat." Anybody have any other guesses?

That's about all I have found on FB on the Brat forums. By the way Brats Day was created in 2016.

Real ID starts next Wednesday, May 7th.

I still need to get my new non-fraudulent Puerto Rican Birth Certificate fixed (since they made me Female).

A Brat born in Spain at an Army base was arrested in Oklahoma by ICE at his home for being illegal. Per a Brat site.

That was entertaining. Sounds like he ticked off the wrong neighbor.

The fact he didn't become a US Citizen until he was 4 y/o tells me that his mother was probably not a US Citizen and his father obviously didn't get his paperwork straight when he was born.

Conversely, because the rules are different depending on whether your mother or father is the American, it didn't matter if Obama really was born in Kenya.

There was and possibly still is a lot of misinformation given to military families overseas. Some were told to have the child go the naturalization process, some were told to file the
Consular form. Some had dual citizenship until a certain age when they had to make a decision. This happen to my former minister that was born in France.
