Results from the committee's initial ballot are in. 22 teams received enough support (all but 3 eligible votes) to get voted into the field as at-large while 35 got at least 4 votes to make it to the under consideration board. Combined with 12 AQs, we have 34 teams in the field.

Some of the seeding and bracketing can be done and it is reasonable to start it this early
For example
At 30-2 Arizona is the 1 seed out west and will play in San Diego the rest of that pod needs an 8&9 not from the Big 12 and a 16
Checking Colleyville bubble watch at the 8/9 UCLA, St Mary's Utah State Or A&M could fill those spots and the 16 is somebody getting on a plane flight

Now repeat it for the UF is the one seed in the south they are going to Tampa
8/9 can't be SEC so TCU Iowa Miami Clemson would work find a 16 that can get on a bus
As the committee completes pods making the next pod becomes simpler
Duke is the other lock for a one seed in the east playing in Greenville building out that pod early would make sense

Here's a thought. Why does the NCAA jam conf journeys of up to 5 consecutive days of play in just mere days before the actual ncaa tournament starts? Why not shave a few games off conf or non-conf play and start the whole thing the prior weekend?

Saturday morning update: 36 of 37 at-large teams selected, though remember some of those will move to AQ, creating other at-large spots. 8 lines seeded and those 32 have been scrubbed once. Going to be a full day. Dan Gavitt will be on CBS at around 3 ET. Tune in for an update.

Y'all do know the conferences choose the dates and not the ncaa right? I'm mean TV helps (or hurts) but ncaa doesn't do anything.

FWIW i had 36 at large locks this morning and just moved Santa Clara in as a 37th lock.
