Considering Jan 2026 was last season tour screnshoot is pointless

Screenshot is pointless because we are playing in Bahamas, not because of what you pointed out. That says tickets went on sale January 2026 so it's not about last season

The way I reading how Battle 4 Atlantis will work this year is that there will be 8 teams there at the same time, but what it really is is two 4-team pods. And then you will have a schedule playing they 3 other teams in your pod. There will not be any TBD opponents during the tournament.

Pod A - Texas A&M, Virginia, Marquette, TBD
Pod B - Memphis, Penn State, Wake Forest, Xavier

We know the TBD will not be another SEC, ACC, or Big East team. That leaves the Big 10, American, Big 12, A-10, West Coast, etc. for the TBD in our pod.

Why does that matter? You can play conference teams out of conference. Put them on opposite sides of the bracket, if they meet who cares

Think you have to get a waiver to do that, but I dunno, my guess is coaches just don't want to do it. That's the only explanation I have. Other than maybe just knowing who they're going to play ahead of time.

We had several conference foes play each other in non-conference games in college football this past year. Not sure why this is different other than they didn't play them again in conference

That is a big difference though. And I think any of those games require waivers, a lot of them were due to contracts that were broken because of realignment.

The great news is I was about to drop $5K on a trip to Atlantis. Already had all the details and the pricing (minus the tourney tickets). But I'm not dropping that much to possibly see a tournament where 3 teams end up tied for the championship at 2-1 and A&M has finished their 3 games and now we have to wait and see if team A wins and do they win by more than 8 and if they don't then A&M can celebrate a championship 3 hours after their last game

There apparently are TBDs. The more I find out the worst this gets

You are in a pod of 4, but you only play 2 games against your pod and then they matchup with a team from the other pod for the 3rd game. So after 2 games, somehow the decide this team from pod A will play this team from pod B for the championship
