Preface: this experience below makes me appreciate Hutch's dedication to our camps so much more!

My son was invited to a baseball camp at UVA a couple of different times, and this summer was the first time we could actually make it work. Of course, now, with O'Connor's departure, the camp has been cancelled.

Looking for another overnight camp (pretty much anywhere in the US) to possibly try to take him to if I can make it fit in our schedule.

Any experience with any others you love?

My son has gone to Louisville's youth camp since he was six, and he loves it. He just did a showcase camp this past fall and really enjoyed it. The staff is very involved, and the current players who participate do a great job with the campers. Coach Mac and company are quality guys.

Thank you! I will check into both and see if there are any options that fit.

He was so looking forward to a new camp experience. I'm hoping we can come up with something else to work.

Looks like we're headed to UNC.

Pretty late in the game for additions and changes, but grateful the other camp didn't wait any longer to cancel or we likely wouldn't have been able to go anywhere.

I am assuming you are looking for prospect camps. If not, disregard this.

My oldest, who is being recruited by a number of schools, has been to more college camps than I can count - all across the country.

From our experience, Stanford runs the best camp he has attended. They are sort of known for their camps and they have about 40 other schools D1/D2/D3 attend.

I will say this, one of the most impressive college staffs was David Pierce's staff (at Texas). My son showed up unannounced and they knew all about him, his high school (out of state), his teammates, his coaches. It was impressive what they knew on an unannounced visit and stood out among a lot of the others.

Best showcases… Showball and Headfirst. These are geared more for high academic schools, and they delivered in terms of getting exposure in front of coaches.

This is great info. Thank you for the input!

He is one grad class too early, or we would have been headed to Stanford. I had read several places about how great is. We'll try it again sometime in the future.
