How do you go about getting a HS player seen/evaluated by the coaching staff? I know a kid that was a starting WR as Sophomore. Parents are not into football and the kid runs a 4.6 and has made some incredible catches. Any info would be appreciated.

Not an expert but:

Make sure he has varsity tape on HUDL. His coaches should be making this availble to him. Our HS coaches actually create the HUDL accounts for the kids and then upload the game film so the players can edit to their higlight reel.

Get him into summer camps. Include smaller ones too like UTSA, North Texas, SMU, TCU etc. Usually alot less kids than the tu or A&M camps. And, some of those will have scouts from several different schools there, not just the host school. Go to as many as you can afford. If he is legit, he will get invited back next year for free.

Outside of that I don't know. Our coaches tell us the "recruiting consultants" are mostly snake oil salesman so keep that in mind. The willingness and connectedness of your HS head coach plays a big part. Make sure they know who the kid is and be at every open workout outside of school he can over the summer.
