Latest thoughts and feelings on a few announcements
Today is decision day for Carthage (TX) linebacker DaQuives Beck. He has a top two of Texas A&M and Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State is also in the mix. I have been hearing his announcement should drop about 3 pm this afternoon.Right now, I get the sense the Aggies are in a good spot there. He has spoken highly of the coaching staff, specifically coach Bateman, and the defensive fit as well as the overall community and program. Also there is the commitment of his teammate KJ Edwards a couple of weeks ago and the number of times he visited since the end of January that gives me a good feeling. We'll see this afternoon though so stay tuned.Friday, July 4 also has a few announcements of interest for Texas A&M fans.WR Boobie Feaster, WR Kaydon Finley, OL John Turntine, and LB Tank King are all set to decide. Feaster is one I feel like the Aggies have a great chance to see join the class. He has a top four of Texas A&M, LSU, USC, and Alabama, and right now I get the sense it's a Texas A&M-USC battle at the top. Honestly I'm hearing it could go either way there, so it is a tight one. Overall, I do like the Aggies' chances to keep him close to home, but keep an eye on the Trojans. He plans to announce his choice at around noon on Friday.King is another one we continue to feel good about. Brauny has led the coverage there so I'll defer to him, but the Aggies, Wolverines, and Irish have been a few schools mentioned lately as his decision nears.Finley looks like it is coming down to Notre Dame and Texas and the word I'm hearing has me leaning towards the Irish. When it comes to Turntine, I also get the sense that one is trending away from the Aggies. Coming off his OV to Austin the Texas momentum has people buzzing and is hard to ignore. On July 5, you have DE Bryce Perry-Wright. He continues to keep people guessing. In talking to different sources there is a lot of Clemson talk but I do hear some A&M chatter in there. Texas and Miami are also very involved and among his finalists. He plans to announce his decision at 4 pm on 247, and right now I'm leaning towards Clemson with my prediction.
