A&M's atmosphere makes strong impression on 2028 CB Dwayle Smith
2028 Baltimore (MD) St. Frances Academy cornerback Dwayle Smith took his first visit to College Station over the weekend, and he already knows it will not be his last. He already has a return trip in the works, with several aspects of the Texas A&M trip quickly grabbing his attention.

Texas A&M CB pledge Raylaun Henry is locked in with the Aggies
All-American cornerback and Texas A&M commit Raylaun Henry returned to Aggieland for the first time since shutting down his recruiting. It was an opportunity to lock in and check out practice. As he made his way back to the Northeast, Henry is excited to get back to College Station in June.

Monday Recruiting Notes - Big visits ahead
This weekend I mentioned the Aggies were hosting Harper Woods (MI) WR Dakota Guerrant this week instead of over the weekend. I can confirm he is in town in College Station today. Guerrant also has visits coming up to Miami and Oregon and he plans to get out to Ohio State and Michigan too. The Aggies along with the above schools are all on his mind when it comes to official visits and his top schools. He plans to commit in July after his official visits. The Aggies are set to host CB commit Raylaun Henry and 2028 teammate Dwayle Smith tomorrow. It will be Henry's second visit of the spring and his first since shutting down his recruitment. Dwayle has heard quite a bit about the Aggies from Henry and he already has an offer, but the trip will be his first chance to see Texas A&M in person. Over the weekend I mentioned Fort Worth (TX) North Crowley cornerback John Meredith III was planning an early April visit to College Station, and that is indeed the case. He and his family are planning to make the trip this weekend. He has spoken highly of the promotion of Bryant Gross-Armiento and this will be his first chance to watch BGA put the cornerbacks to work. It will also be the Aggies first chance to host Meredith since the fall. He already has an official visit locked in for the June 12 weekend, and he will also take official visits to Alabama, Texas, and Ohio State. He is also looking at trips to Miami and Notre Dame. The Aggies are also set to host Gilmer (TX) 2027 OL Ismael Camara this upcoming weekend. He has been in close communication with the Aggie staff as his visit schedule comes together, and things are looking good for a weekend stop in College Station. Like Meredith this will be his first chance to see the Aggies in action this spring and his first trip since the fall. He already has his Texas A&M official visit for the May 29 weekend, as well as Texas (June 5), LSU (June 12), and Oregon (June 19). He will take an OV to SMU the first week in May and he is also looking at OVs to Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, and Auburn.

A few Thursday recruiting notes and thoughts
Fort Worth (TX) North Crowley standout CB John Meredith III named his top six. Considering he has official visits scheduled to Texas A&M (June 12), Alabama (May 29), Texas (June 4), and Ohio State (June 19) it comes as no surprise they all made the cut. Joining the four are Miami and Notre Dame. He plans to visit Notre Dame this weekend and both schools have been mentioned over the last few months as programs he has been communicating with and watching closely. USC is another in that category. All things considered I still get the sense this one ends up boiling down to an in-state fight at decision time. I also still like the Aggies' chances between his familiarity with the staff, the culture of the program, Elko, and the overall pace of life in College Station. The Aggies also received some big news from Baltimore (MD) St Frances Academy 2027 All-American cornerback Raylaun Henry. He announced he was shutting down his recruitment and locking in with the Aggies. https://www.instagram.com/p/DWCIwbejaoc/One of the nation's top defensive backs from one of the nation's most recruited high school programs, Henry has attracted and continues to attract attention from college coaches, so his public declaration is quite the statement. In February, when he announced he had big news dropping in March this is what I was told to expect. He then returned to College Station in early March for the first time since his fall commitment, and he plans to return March 31 with 2028 St Frances Academy teammate Dwayle Smith who also holds a Texas A&M offer. In addition to the unofficial, he has scheduled his official visit to Texas A&M for the June 12 weekend. Henry was also mentioned by LB recruit Kaden Henderson as someone he formed a strong connection with at the Under Armour and Polynesian Bowl games. Along the offensive line, I continue to hear good things about the Aggies efforts with Gilmer (TX) standout Ismael Camara. He has not set a a spring unofficial visit date, but from what I've gathered there is a strong possibility he visits between now and early April.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
