Joeckel becomes Texas A&M's fifth No. 2 overall pick

Until draft day, the Aggies' Luke Joeckel was the expected No. 1 selection. Though the Chiefs went in a different direction, Jacksonville jumped at the chance and took the Outland Trophy winner second overall.

Texas A&M’s hopes to have a player taken No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft for the first time in school history were dashed Thursday night when the Kansas City Chiefs chose Central Michigan tackle Eric Fisher over Luke Joeckel.

However, Joeckel, the Aggies’ All-American offensive tackle, was taken by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the second selection. He’s the fifth A&M player to be taken second in the draft.
