Questions surrounding Texas A&M starting quarterback Johnny Manziel may not be answered soon, but the major progress in identifying his backup could be made this week.

Junior Matt Joeckel has completed five collegiate passes for 42 yards. Redshirt freshman Matt Davis and true freshman Kenny Hill have yet to throw one.

So, obviously, none started the competition with a major advantage.
