It was the winter of 1993 and I was courtside at G. Rollie White Coliseum wracking my brain.

A Cincinnati women’s basketball player with bleached-blond hair styled into something like a pompadour looked familiar, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on whom she resembled.

Just then Lisa Branch, Texas A&M’s humming bird of a point guard, made a quick cross-over move to dart past her for an easy baseline layup.
