Entering spring camp, competition reigns supreme across the Aggie roster with spots up for grabs at a number of positions. What was apparent on Friday, however, was that talent waits en masse to fill them.

Kevin Sumlin likes to say competition is a coach’s best friend.

In that case, he must have felt like everybody’s BFF when Texas A&M opened spring football on Friday.

Just about everywhere Sumlin looks he sees healthy competition brewing.

“There is only four or five places where you can look up and say these guys are returning and expect them to start,” Sumlin said. “We have real battles at receiver.
