In final frustration, Aggies falter late to fall to Auburn

So close, yet so far. So it goes. Texas A&M's 69-64 loss to the Tigers on Saturday closed the book on a disappointing regular season, but the way it failed was far more disheartening — and far more familiar.

Again, the Aggies were so close.

Again, they were so disappointing.

Texas A&M’s 69-64 Southeastern Conference basketball loss to Auburn in the regular season finale on Saturday was a perfect (or perhaps imperfect) microcosm of the Aggies’ entire frustrating year.

As has been so often the case, A&M was in contention into the waning seconds. And as has so often been the case, the Aggies couldn’t make the key plays down the stretch to pull out a victory.
