With a loss to Auburn at home, the Aggies will most likely need to win their first two games in the conference tournament and have a great showing in the third game to help their NIT odds.

Protecting home court — especially from a bad Auburn Tigers squad in the final game of conference play — and gaining a little respect from the NIT selection committee by winning four of their last six games would have gone a long way to a postseason bid.
