Defensive tackle depth growing in Golden's absence

Isaiah Golden has withdrawn and will return in the summer, Kevin Sumlin confirmed on Thursday. Between a pair of first-year players and growing depth, however, the Aggies are setting themselves up for success.

Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin on Thursday night confirmed reports that sophomore nose guard Isaiah Golden has left school, but said he expects him back this summer.

Golden, who has been suspended from spring practices following a February arrest for misdemeanor marijuana possession, reportedly left school for “personal reasons.”

Sumlin said he didn’t think the 6-foot-2, 300-pound Golden’s absence would affect his development.
