Big-time programs were only beginning to discover A&M Consol's Riley Garner, but Texas A&M was quick to offer. In return, it received a commit with the potential to excel in many roles in Mark Snyder's defense.

Kevin Sumlin and the Aggies essentially began their recruitment of local standout and A&M Consolidated linebacker Riley Garner late last week by extending an offer.

Six days later, Garner made the two-mile drive to campus.

After spending Wednesday afternoon touring the facilities, visiting the engineering school and ending the trip with a sit-down with the head coach, Riley had seen enough. The lifelong A&M fan is now ‘officially’ an Aggie.
