Even in lackluster win, Aggies' case receives boost

Texas A&M cruised in a victory that nonetheless encouraged very few. Still, the Aggies sit at 3-0. Meanwhile in Columbia, S.C. and Blacksburg, Va., more doubts about Kevin Sumlin's squad may have been erased.

There are those who looked at Texas A&M’s No. 7 national ranking and scoffed.

In fact, just this week an internet columnist named Todd Fuhrman, who calls himself a Las Vegas “insider,” labeled Texas A&M the most overrated team in college football.

Well, if the Aggies needed validation for their lofty ranking, they got it on Saturday.

But that validation came in Columbia, S.C. and in Blacksburg, Va. Back home at Kyle Field, they were making Fuhrman look pretty good.
