Embarrassed in Starkville, A&M must regroup

The defense couldn't get a stop. The offense couldn't find its way. Nothing went quite right for the Aggies on Saturday, and most of it was self-inflicted. Another half of the season remains, but will A&M fix it all in time?

STARKVILLE, Miss. — Thousands of cowbells and one visiting football team were incessantly rattled Saturday at Davis Wade Stadium.

Some might disagree. Some might argue the Aggies maintained at least a measure of poise in their stunning 48-31 Southeastern Conference loss to Mississippi State — a loss that wasn’t nearly that close.

Perhaps it could be debated whether the Aggies lost their composure, lost their focus, lost their confidence or lost their mojo.
