No one was safe on a day filled with upsets and head-turning results. One frontrunner only cemented his place, while another earned his burst to the top of the weekly rankings by TexAgs' resident Trophy voter.

Each week of the college football season TexAgs’ Olin Buchanan will reveal how he would rank the top five contenders. The rankings reflect how he would vote if the Heisman ballots were due that day. Buchanan has been a Heisman Trophy voter since 1993.

1. Todd Gurley, Georgia, RB: The Bulldogs’ best running back since Herschel Walker, Georgia is relying almost as heavily on Gurley as it did on Walker in 1980.
