The Latest: 2015 Newton DB Roney Elam

In Friday's 44-26 win, Elam showed why he's one of the state's premiere DB prospects. At safety he forced three turnovers, including an 85-yard pick six. While he was certainly a ballhawk in the passing game, he also served as Newton's enforcer in run support, causing two fumble recoveries and arriving to the ball angry all night. At QB, Elam scored twice from over 30 yards out on a pair of zone reads capping off a complete performance.
