The Texas A&M search for a defensive coordinator never was 'Boom or bust.'

Sure, Will Muschamp — aka 'Coach Boom' — is the highest-profile candidate, which is why Auburn and South Carolina and some say Florida State showed interest in hiring him.

Hey, when Texas tanked to 5-7 in 2010 the Longhorns were still ranked sixth in the nation in total defense. The Aggie fandom’s hopes to land Muschamp were certainly understandable.
