A&M overcomes slow start to beat Mercer, 65-50

Early on it seemed the Bears would carry the momentum from a near-defeat of Georgia over at Reed Arena. Jalen Jones and three other Aggies in double figures instead paved the way for a surge and solid victory.

With eight minutes left in the first half on Tuesday, it wasn’t hard to tell which team in Reed Arena was cold from a ten-day break.

Texas A&M eventually won comfortably over Mercer, 65-50 — but in the early minutes it trailed by double digits and needed someone to catch fire.

In typical Maroon and White fashion, that spark came from the guy wearing No. 12.

Jalen Jones scored nine straight and pulled the Aggies within six points with under five minutes to play in the first.
