• I thought for sure that senior shortstop Blake Allemand would start the first game in the leadoff spot and would be there virtually every game throughout the 2015 season. But as I do more and more digging with my sources, that doesn’t appear to be the case. The main reason for that? The emergence of sophomore spark-plug Ryne Birk, who was spectacular throughout the fall and preseason.
