Perhaps Texas A&M basketball coach Billy Kennedy should have borrowed an idea from football coach Kevin Sumlin and played music during practice this week.

Rather than hip hop, Kennedy should have repeatedly had Ray Charles crooning “Georgia on My Mind.”

True, the Aggies are off to face lowly South Carolina (13-12, 4-9 SEC), which is mired in 12th place in the Southeastern Conference standings.

But the Aggies shouldn’t look at standings.
