The 2016 Killeen Shoemaker defensive tackle has wowed with his skills and his size alike, and now he's on the list to head to Oregon for The Opening. In the meantime, he intends to focus on a thought-out recruitment.

The Latest: 2016 Killeen Shoemaker DT Kendell Jones

The 6-4, 360-pound monster defensive tackle drew plenty of attention from competitors and coaches when he showed up in Dallas for the Nike regionals. Once the one-on-ones started, Jones didn’t disappoint.

Jones earned one of the coveted spots to The Opening in Oregon later this summer, and did it in impressive fashion.

“I’m really excited right now,” he said. “I didn’t really expect this coming in, but I’m really excited.
