Aggie Recruiting Review: Groundwork laid at Sunday's camp

Aside from one surprising, high-profile commitment, fireworks didn't immediately follow Texas A&M's Sunday mini-camp. But they may in short order. The Aggie staff now turns its focus to the weeks ahead and several signs that are trending positive.

Outside of a monster "#YESSIR!" and a few very important visitors on the defensive side of the football, things were pretty quiet following Texas A&M Football's second mini-camp of the summer.

Don't be surprised to see the action heat up this week, however — the Aggies are in line to pick up one and perhaps two or even three 2016 pledges.

Here is your Monday recruiting recap to close the 2015 summer camp season:

• Consider another need addressed when Brother Martin (New Orleans, La.) tight end Irvin Smith chose the Aggies in what qualifies as perhaps the biggest surprise of the 2016 recruiting cycle thus far for the Aggie Football staff. And what a pleasant surprise it was for Kevin Sumlin, Jake Spavital and Jeff Banks.
