In expending nearly half a billion dollars to make Kyle Field the finest college football stadium in America, Texas A&M has laid the metaphorical groundwork for a continued place among the nation's most prestigious programs.

On Wednesday, it laid some actual groundwork as the finished product itself drew nearer.

Watch the video above to see grass going down on 'new' Kyle Field, essentially just six weeks away from the Aggies' home opener against Ball State on Sept. 12.

I thought the soil on the bottom of the turf would be thicker. I also thought they would do this during the night rather than the heat of the day. Glad to see it going down.
