Among the most electric players on the Texas A&M offense, Speedy Noil nonetheless has many wondering about his slow start. According to his coaches, a nagging injury is to blame — and as it passes, so will any respite for opposing defenses.

Texas A&M football coach Kevin Sumlin doesn’t typically discuss injuries. However, on Tuesday he relaxed that policy to help answer one of the more perplexing questions of the young 2015 season.

What’s wrong with receiver Speedy Noil?

As a true freshman last season, Noil looked like a rising star as he caught 46 passes for 583 yards and five touchdowns and was among the nation’s best kick returners.

But thus far this year he’s appeared more like a falling star — out of the starting lineup and having just four catches in two games.
