When problems arise, football coaches often go back to what’s worked before.

That applies to public relations, too.

Arkansas coach Bret Bielema certainly has some on-field problems which no doubt have lowered his approval ratings in the Ozarks. Therefore, Bielema must have thought back to July 15, when his approval ratings and popularity were most recently soaring.

That’s when he described taking a knee on the 2-yard line to close out a Texas Bowl blowout of Texas as “borderline erotic.”

Everything has been much harder for Bielema since then. Consecutive losses to Toledo and Texas Tech have knocked the Razorbacks out of the national polls and raised questions about Bielema’s job security.
