New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton spoke to a group of assembled media this week and dropped a nugget of statistical knowledge that wasn’t as surprising as it was definitive.

Payton was speaking with a group of New Orleans media when he was asked about turnovers. He noted that during his tenure with the Saints (minus his one year suspension, I’d imagine) the Saints are 34-1 when they don’t have a turnover. The week following, though, they’re 15-19, averaging nearly two turnovers a game.
