Texas A&M 41, Western Carolina 17: Defense in review

The Aggies again gave up a big play on the ground, but the numbers otherwise were favorable. Unfortunately, it's hard to tell much about the Texas A&M defense after Saturday's game — but there is something to glean from who got much-needed rest and who impressed in their place.

I'll keep this week's 'defense In review' pretty short and sweet since there really wasn't a whole lot to talk about in what amounted to a glorified November scrimmage — and a contest during which Texas A&M was playing without three key members of the D and limiting the reps of multiple starters.

As far as the briefest of summaries go, the Aggies allowed just a single touchdown on defense and Western Carolina struggled to top 300 yards of total offense.
