Thoughts on Eric Hyman stepping down from Texas A&M AD position

Tuesday's announcement that Texas A&M will be in the market for a new AD comes at a curious time, but it sends an unambiguous message about the University's vision for the athletic department and its relationship to Aggie Football.

To be blunt, I respect Eric Hyman and have always enjoyed our small talk. 

While I wouldn't say he or his staff were ever big fans of TexAgs and what we do here, he was always professional and friendly. For that, I am appreciative.

As far as his tenure at Texas A&M goes, the word I'd use to describe it is uneventful — at least in terms of major moves like coaching changes, hires, etc.
