After Texas A&M's plans for the quarterbacks changed late in the 2016 class, the Aggies re-engaged with 2016 Argyle Liberty Christian QB Nick Starkel — with great success, if his impressions following his official visit are to be believed.

Football Recruiting: 2016 Liberty Christian QB Nick Starkel

This summer when Texas A&M landed 2017 Bishop Gorman quarterback Tate Martell, it looked like the Aggies would not be in the market for a quarterback in this class. Fast forward to the departures of Kyler Murray and Kyle Allen, and the A&M staff is pushing late to try and land a signal caller.

With the hiring of new offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone, Starkel made perfect sense.
