Three weeks into the college football season, it seems we know less than we knew when the season began. Each week has brought new surprises, reversals of fortune, and a new name atop Olin's early Heisman ballot.

Some of us learn lessons faster than others.

For example, a Stanford student figures to learn faster than … say … a student at LSU.

So, after trying to ascertain what’s been learned one quarter of the way through the college football season I’ve got an overwhelming urge to chant: “Tiger Bait, Tiger Bait, Tiger Bait …”

We just haven’t learned much.

OK. We know Alabama is by far the most dominant team in the country.
