Texas A&M ran into a buzzsaw in Tuscaloosa, but the Aggies still have a lot to play for. Winning out could mean a college football playoff or Sugar Bowl berth, so the guys in Maroon and White can't afford to mail it in after their first loss.

Throughout the first half of a wildly successful and entertaining 2016 season, Texas A&M cruised to an unbeaten record despite a handful of flaws that kept the Aggies out of the mainstream playoff and national championship discussion. The tried-and-true eyeball test was telling us that Kevin Sumlin’s squad was very good but not elite.
