A&M players focus on Texas Bowl, not draft and injury concerns

Twelve years ago then-football coach Dennis Franchione had surnames removed from the backs of the Texas A&M jerseys.

His reasoning? He wanted to make sure his players were there to represent the name on the front of the jersey.

Kevin Sumlin doesn’t have to worry about that.

The fact that star defensive end Myles Garrett, quarterback Trevor Knight, offensive tackle Avery Gennesy and others would not consider missing the Texas Bowl shows their priorities.
