Texas A&M seeks positive momentum in Texas Bowl against KSU

The Aggies ended the regular season on a low note, but there is still much to play for in Wednesday's Texas Bowl against Kansas State. A win would give the Texas A&M much-needed momentum going into 2017 and a nine-win season for the first time since 2013.

That’s why the Texas Bowl is important; it'll help determine how the Aggies’ football season – and coach Kevin Sumlin’s program – is perceived.

When the Aggies (8-4) face Kansas State (8-4) tonight at NRG Stadium, they seek one more victory that will alter the way A&M’s up-and-down season is viewed.

Only about one-third of the 128 FBS teams reach nine victories. Just about half of those come from Power Five conferences.
