Badly in need of a basketball victory, Texas A&M gave its best shot against Auburn on Saturday afternoon. Actually, the Aggies took 31 of their best shots.

In the best performance of the season, the Aggies hit 31 of 45 field goals for a 68.9-percent clip – the third-highest shooting percentage in school history – and rolled to an 81-62 Southeastern Conference victory before 9,379 at Reed Arena.
