Hard-hitting Justin Evans takes aim at fulfilling dreams, NFL Draft

As his dad looked on and waxed nostalgic, Texas A&M safety Justin Evans made his best impression on NFL scouts on Thursday. A physical, athletic defender, Evans is likely to be an early round pick in the upcoming professional draft.

Reginald Robinson made an eight-hour drive on Thursday to witness Texas A&M’s pro day. Dressed in his team’s colors, he closely watched safety Justin Evans, whom he compared to former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu.

Robinson made mental notes of the results from each test Evans completed.

A 4.53 40-yard dash. Not bad.

A 41.5-inch vertical jump. Very impressive.

A 10-foot-9 broad jump. Exceptional.

All that despite a strained right quadricep. Amazing.
