It has been a long and challenging postseason road for the Aggies, and it came to an end on Saturday. Texas A&M capped off its final game of the season at the Women’s College World Series, dropping an 8-2 decision to UCLA.

The Bruins were able to get on the board first after a solo shot to center from Kylee Perez and earned two more runs in the top of the second, extending their lead to 3-0.

The Aggies rallied in the fourth when Riley Sartain knocked her 13th home-run of the season over the wall in center field to score A&M’s first run of the weekend.

A&M was able to contain the UCLA offense in the top of the sixth. With one earned out, Bruin left fielder Gabrielle Maurice knocked a double into left center before advancing to third on a fielder’s choice meant for Nickles. Nickles and Maurice attempted a double-steal, but the Aggie defense shut them down quickly turning the double play.

The heavy-hitting Bruins put the Aggies away after that, scoring five runs in the seventh.

TexAgs Senior Celena Massey hits a home-run in the top of the seventh, her last at bat for Texas A&M.

With one half inning left, A&M head coach Jo Evans made the decision to give her seniors their last at-bats of their collegiate careers, and it paid off. Celena Massey stepped up and knocked a solo home run to left field to cap of the 2017 season on a bittersweet note.
