History, bragging rights color matchup between Aggies, Horned Frogs

It'd be difficult to find two squads that have battled each other more often on big stages over the last three seasons than Texas A&M and TCU. Together again for a College World Series contest, the Ags and Frogs will do battle with their seasons on the line once more.

OMAHA, Neb. — Texas A&M and TCU are among college baseball’s elite programs. They battled in the ’15 and ’16 Super Regionals. They competed in a 15-inning marathon this season. They have a history that dates back to the old Southwest Conference.

Yet, A&M pitcher Stephen Kolek contends there is no rivalry between the Aggies and Horned Frogs.

“You can’t really call it a rivalry,” Kolek said on Monday morning. “To have a rivalry, we have to win.
