Kevin Sumlin's Aggies won an ugly football game against Nicholls State on Saturday night. It wasn't pretty, and it wasn't easy. However, the Aggies may be able to learn more from their unexpected struggles than they could have from an easy win, and that experience could be invaluable moving forward.

A lot of very good and highly entertaining football was played around the country last night. That wasn't the case at Kyle Field. No matter how much effort went into ongoing game day atmosphere improvements, the 12th Man spent most of Saturday night's home opener in an uneasy, restless state, wondering whether or not they were going to witness a whole different type of embarrassing defeat...the kind that results in a head coaching change just two weeks into a three-month season.
