Texas A&M falls to Texas in charity exhibition for hurricane relief, 73-69

It was the rekindling of a rivalry Wednesday night as Texas A&M and Texas met on the hardwood in Houston to support hurricane relief efforts. The Aggies fell to the Longhorns in the contest, 73-69, but showed some signs of improvement.

All the preseason hype about Texas A&M’s improved point guard play and more productive bench proved to be true. Now, if the Aggies can get their “proven” players to produce at a high level this basketball season could be as special as projected.

That wasn’t the case Wednesday night in a 73-69 exhibition loss to Texas, which was played with the intensity of March before a loud crowd of 2,048 at Rice’s Tudor Fieldhouse.
