The Aggies matched the Rebels early in what looked like an imminent shootout, but the offense soon hit the skids, managing just three points in the second half. There were some obvious bright spots, but some familiar struggles also loomed large despite the win.

• I feel like I end up saying this more often than not these days, but it was once again a tale of two halves for the A&M offense. This time, however, the change-up came with the Aggies getting it done offensively during the game's first 30 minutes before being completely shut down after the break by a defense that ranked next-to-last in yards-per-game allowed and dead last in scoring D.
