Sluggish Aggies dispose of pesky UT-Rio Grande Valley, 78-60

Texas A&M jumped out to a large lead over the Vaqueros but spent most of the game struggling with an unfamiliar zone defense and a lack of energy. The Aggies put together a late run to put UT-RGV away for good.

It’s often said what will be done inevitably should be done immediately.

That was certainly the case Thursday night at Reed Arena. Ninth-ranked Texas A&M, which is averaging 83 points per game, immediately launched an inevitable run.

However, the Aggies (7-0) were unable to sustain their early dominance in posting a lackluster 78-60 college basketball victory over Texas-Rio Grande Valley that was much more competitive than the score indicated.
